Community Event

On May 19th, 2023 the 49th Precinct & 49th Precinct Community Council Organization gathered for the the 34th Annual Fellowship Conference. The NY State Senator Natalia Fernandez and NYC Councilwoman Marjorie Velazquez honored this gathering with their attendance.

Among Honorees and special recognized were the Albanian & American Open Hand Association longtime board member and volunteer Andrea Siegel and Edith Blitzer AAOHA EX_-Vice President.

We would like to also mention Police Officer Kelby Castulo who was awarded the 49th Precinct Cop of the Year Title.

Tribute was especially given to the President of 49th Precinct Community Council Joseph A. Thompson who retired from his position after 24 years of service. Mr. Thomson mentioned that the newly elected president Hazel Miura will always help the police.

Hazel Miura said that 49th Precinct Community Council Organization under the leadership of Joseph A. Thomson have made our neighborhood a better area than 20 yrs ago. Among many good deeds Hazel mentioned the rescuing of hundreds of cats of dogs two of which she adopted and takes care.
